First Bio-Imaging User Meeting: Success

We had our first Bio-Imaging user group meeting during the last week of October, where researchers from various backgrounds (Figure 1) gathered to learn more about AIF’s Bio-Imaging capabilities and to assess short and long-term instrumentation needs for this research community.  The discussion was led by AIF and Biomedical Engineering (BME) representatives, including Dr. Shadow Huang (AIF Associate Director and Associate Professor in MAE), Dr. Ashley Brown (Assistant Professor in BME), and Dr. Aaron Brown (AIF Bio-EM Specialist).

Meeting attendants came from 10 different colleges (Figure 2), including the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS; 35.3%), College of Engineering (COE; 26.5%), College of Sciences (COS; 17.6%), and College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM; 14.7%). With this data in mind, AIF is planning to organize a second meeting in Spring 2020. The second Bio-Imaging user group meeting will be co-organized by AIF and the Functional Tissue Engineering Program of the Comparative Medicine Institute at NC State.  Please stay tuned for more information!
