This introductory nanoindentation short course will cover basic principles of nanoindentation including basic theory, applications, and factors to consider in planning experiments. This course is designed for first-time users and those interested in learning about nanoindentation and how the technique can be applied to their research. The course will include a 1 hour introductory presentation, followed by a 1 hour demonstration of the instrument and then up to 2 hours of shared hands-on time with user-provided samples. The course is limited to 3 people.
