Time July 10, 2013 Wednesday at 10:00 am
Location NC State University, Monteith Research Center Rm. 136
Speaker Dr. Anahita Pakzad, Ph.D., Gatan Inc.

ABSTRACT: Cathodoluminescence (CL) microscopy has found favor in many research environments worldwide due to its ability to provide optical information at high spatial and spectral resolution. From oil and gas exploration to high power lasers and high brightness LEDs, CL has played a vital role in extending our understanding of a wide range of materials systems. This talk will describe and give examples of several applications of CL imaging and spectroscopy in the field of materials characterization.

SPEAKER: Dr. Pakzad has worked at Gatan as an Application Scientist for a year and a half.  She received her Ph.D. in Materials Science from Michigan Technological University.
