Chuck Mooney graduated with a BS in Physics in 1990 from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. After graduation, he worked as a pilot plant chemist for Advanced Materials in Moncure, NC from 1990-1991. Chuck then attended NC State University, receiving his MS in Materials Science and Engineering in 1995. From 1995-1998, he was a product specialist for Park Scientific Instruments, which produced scanning probe microscopes. From 1998-2004, he was SPM Product Manager at JEOL, USA, Inc. In 2004, Chuck came back to NCSU to work as the VP-SEM Lab Manager and has since taken charge of the field emission SEM lab and the atomic force microscope lab.
