Confocal Raman Microscope
The AIF just acquired a new Horiba XploRA PLUS Confocal Raman Microscope. The Raman hosts a variable temperature stage with the range -196 to 600 degrees C. It can be upgraded in the future to add an integrated AFM. Confocal Raman Microscope combines Raman spectrum and optical microscope, providing sample identification and chemical imaging on a microscopic scale. The interaction of laser light with a sample results in a detailed chemical fingerprint. This instrument offers fast confocal imaging, automated laser wavelength switching. It is an ideal technique for non-destructive, non-contact, water/aqueous phase sampling in pharmaceuticals, semiconductor, Geology, polymers and forensic applications. This instrumentation acquisition was enabled by the Office of Research, Innovation and Economic Development (ORIED).
