NC State Classes and Normal Operations to be Suspended (Starting September 12, 2018 at 12pm)

Due to the anticipated and potential effects of Hurricane Florence to the Raleigh area, NC State will suspend normal operations (Condition 2 of the UNC System adverse weather policy) beginning at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, lasting through 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16. There will be no classes after 12 p.m. on Wednesday, and no classes Thursday or Friday of this week.

Normal operations are anticipated to begin at 5 p.m. Sunday. Regular class schedules are planned to resume Monday morning. University officials will continue to monitor the situation and update the campus community with any changes.

Under Condition 2, all non-mandatory operations are suspended and non-mandatory employees should not report to work until the university resumes normal operations.

The NC State community is encouraged to review weather and road conditions to make well-informed, safe choices about travel. Any students choosing to travel home outside of the area are highly encouraged to do so before strong winds are expected to begin in Raleigh on Wednesday night.

Visit the NC State home page at www.ncsu.edu for updates and additional severe weather preparedness information.
